Acne is an embarrassing problem. Having acne scars is doubly embarrassing! Acne scars can be permanent resulting damage to the skin’s tissue. When you have acne, the chance of scarring is totally unavoidable. The following tips will at least minimize acne scar:
- Acne must be treated immediately. Don’t wait for acne to heal by itself because it might develop into a more serious problem. When all over-the-counter treatments don’t work on your acne, immediately seek the help of a medical professional.
- Do not irritate your skin that can cause inflammation. Inflammation will most likely result to scarring when acne lesions develop. Scrubbing and the use of harsh chemical skin products will worsen acne problem.
- Never squeeze your pimples. Pimples that are popped or pricked can cause inflammation and skin tissue damage. When acne gets infected, the blemish can worsen and leave an embarrassing scar. Just let the blemish heal to avoid acne scar.
- Know if your skin type is easily scarred. Consult a doctor to discuss treatment options so that you’ll be advised on how to avoid scarring or how to at least minimize the risk of scarring.
- Consult a doctor when you have deep and large zits. They will definitely leave scars when left untreated. The infection will destroy the skin tissues. When the acne problem becomes severe, a doctor must prescribe a treatment. Once immediately treated, acne scars will be avoided.
